On September 5, the ignition ceremony of GAC's first hydrogen engine was held at Tianjin University. At the ignition ceremony, Wu Jian introduced the development of GAC Hydrogen Power and the technology of the first hydrogen engine product. This engine is independently developed based on GAC's fourth-generation engine platform, and GAC Group has completely independent intellectual property rights. On the basis of mastering the core technology of hydrogen-specific engine, GAC Research Institute has made a number of innovative achievements, such as the newly developed combustion chamber, which improves the mixing uniformity of hydrogen and air; the hydrogen supply system improves the power density and reduces the hydrogen consumption. Leakage risk; equipped with cold-type spark plugs, which improves the heat dissipation capacity and avoids possible abnormal combustion risks such as pre-ignition; by strengthening the piston, piston ring, connecting rod, etc., the heat dissipation performance of the cylinder head and cylinder block is optimized. Improve the reliability of the operation of parts; the developed high-efficiency supercharging system reduces the ventilation resistance and improves the charging efficiency; the developed hydrogen-specific engine management system realizes the stable operation and superior performance output of the hydrogen engine.

Wu Jian introduced that the target thermal efficiency of this engine is expected to exceed 44%, the thermal efficiency index will reach the domestic leading level, and "zero carbon emissions" can be achieved. At the same time, GAC Group will also coordinate to promote the layout of the hydrogen production-hydrogen storage-hydrogenation industrial chain. In terms of hydrogen production, make full use of renewable energy sources such as wind power, photovoltaics, and hydropower to prepare "green" hydrogen and increase the proportion of "green hydrogen". In terms of hydrogen storage, improve the safety and mass ratio of hydrogen storage. After the ignition ceremony, Gao Wenzhi and Wu Jian watched GAC's first hydrogen engine running stably, and exchanged views with key members of the R&D team on the future development of hydrogen power. Gao Wenzhi said that the State Key Laboratory of Combustion of Internal Combustion Engines of Tianjin University will fully assist GAC to complete the next project development and test work, help GAC to take the road of green, low-carbon and sustainable development, and assist the implementation of the national "dual-carbon" strategy.
